What an awesome and empowering couple of days it has been! I exceeded my expectations in both my bench press and my back squat! Today is a well deserved rest, or light active rest day. I say this with all seriousness – make sure to take REST DAYS!! Listen to your body. It is so so so important that you aren’t overexerting yourself – doing more is not the way to speed up your results. In fact, you put yourself at a higher risk of injury or doing more harm than good.
That being said, I know my body, and I know when to push my limits. I know when enough is enough and hand to heart – I love a good solid rest day!! My upper body is still torched from Monday and my lower body is sore but I’ve felt much worse lol! I kept it simple today – two short ab circuits and a nice long walk with the dog! Yoga and a nice good stretch tonight.
This week’s theme is TRY – and you know know I’m all about that!! Here is what Ashley says our Week 1 mission is : Complete every exercise, every set, and every rep. You may be intimidated, you may be afraid, but if you find the courage to complete the workout each day of Week 1, you’ll be on the right track to showing the world just how amazing you are!
Day 3 : REST DAY / LIGHT ACTIVE DAY
Warm Up – 5 minutes light jog
2 circuits of choice (I did 2 different ones, each of which took me 5 minutes)
Followed immediately by an elbow plank hold for MAX time : I held for 3 minutes before I had to break form.
Light low impact cardio – walking my dog Abby 🙂 isn’t she cute?!
Celebrate all of your little victories, and remember, don’t be afraid to fail, be afraid not to TRY!!
